My understanding of daffodils is that they will spread. But, they’re a bulb. So, I never thought one would just pop up in a random spot in the yard. Well, not technically the yard. The area beyond the yard before the property breaks to trees. Yet, up popped this jolly little fellow. Out of no where. And, not to be outdone by the traditional yellow-yellow daffodils that are the norm in yard, this little daffodil chose to be fancy and be orange-yellow. Such a happy little random flower deserves a day in the spotlight (let’s just hope a deer doesn’t wander by and eat it).

Just Spreading the Cheer

Welcome to Tales from the Upper Left! I’m an Oregonian by birth, and a Washingtonian (upper left...get it?) by choice. I share my life with a husband named Jonathan and a cat named Colby Jack (he’s orange...like cheese). I dabble in photography (passionate hobbyist), hike when the opportunity arises, drink wine whenever the mood strikes me and travel not often enough. Predictable Washington blog? Nah. I promise!
