Weekly Photo Challenge: Rounded

What’s the difference between rounded and curved?  Not a lot.  According to WickiDiff:  “Rounded is a synonym of curved.  As verbs the difference between rounded and curved is that rounded is round while curved is curved.”  Clear as mud.  But, wait, it gets better!  WickiDiff goes on to explain:  “As adjective the difference between rounded and curved is that rounded is made into a circle or sphere while curved is having a curve or curves.”  Okay, then.  I need to present a photo of a circle or sphere.

Not so fast!  The photo challenge states:  “Goodbye, straight lines!  Hello, curves!”  Well, now I’m back to where I started overthinking this entire thing.

So, my rounded is a bit more curved than one would expect rounded to be, but I happen to love this particular photo so am going to go with it.

This photo of Diablo Dam was taken a few short weeks ago on our vacation through the North Cascades, Methow Valley and Lake Chelan.  Take a look a recent blogs for stories and photos about that adventure.  Construction on Diablo Dam was started in 1927.  The dam was completed in 1930 and, at 389 feet, was the tallest dam in the world.

I love the architecture, I love the lines.
