Spiced Meyer Lemon Drop Cocktail

Is it confession time?  I currently have four different simple syrups in my refrigerator.  The culmination of these days of wassail.  Rosemary, pomegranate, cranberry and spice.  Am I heartbroken?  No.  However, it does mean that recipes that call for plain simple syrup are likely to be…shoozed…up.  Such was the case with this Meyer Lemon Drop concoction.  The original recipe called for regular lemon.  I had Meyer lemon left from last week’s Meyer Lemon and Rosemary Tom Collins. It also called for simple syrup.  I opted to use spiced simple syrup, which I originally made for the Sugar Cookie Martini and which also appeared in the Winter Spiced Old Fashioned.  Ohhh…I had already forgotten about that old fashioned in the frenzy of the holiday spirit.  I may have to revisit that one.  We need more whiskey.

The original recipe also called for this to be served in the form of the shooter.  Do I look 25?  Nope.  I do not.  I would rather double a given recipe, put it in a martini glass and sip it than shoot it.  Double the pleasure.  Double the fun.
