Growth.  A photo challenge topic that just invites New Year’s introspection.  Personal growth.  Photographic growth.  Career growth.  Or…not.

First, I don’t tend to make resolutions.  Or pick a word for the year.  Too much pressure.  Too lazy?  Perhaps.  So, instead of looking inward, why not look outward.  Growth is present all around us here in the great Pacific Northwest.  Moss.  Trees.  Two of my favorite things.

I took this shot last weekend during our New Year’s Eve hike.  It was a gorgeous day.  We had just finished lunch and I was wandering ’round our lunch site when I happened to look up.  I was captivated by the tall bare trees, coated in moss, reaching for the blue, blue sky.  Beautiful.
