Though it will be a number of days before I publish this post I am, at this very moment, blissed out on a combination of caramel and butterscotch. Are there two more magnificent flavors on this earth? I think not.
Today’s drink? Maple Butter Kiss. The name alone makes my eyes roll up in my head a bit. Combine that drink with a Trader Joe’s Stroopwafel and you have yourself a mighty fine dessert.
What’s a stroopwafel? It’s a Dutch caramel waffle cookie. Two thin waffle cookies (think a very thin waffle cone) with caramel (say what??!!!) in the middle. I do so love Trader Joe’s during the holiday season. So very many extraordinary delights.
I do believe I’ve hit a home run with cocktail number four, people. I encourage you to quickly (post-haste!!) acquire these ingredients and mix yourself a creamy, maple-y, butterscotch-y delight. And, if you live near a Trader Joe’s, go buy yourself some stroopwafel!
Maple Butter Kiss
(recipe comes straight from our friends at Foodnetwork here) Recipe makes one drink.
1 1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz butterscotch schnapps
1/4 oz real maple syrup
1 oz half-n-half
fresh ground nutmeg
Pour all of the liquids into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously. Pour into a martini glass. Top with fresh ground nutmeg.
I highly recommend fresh ground nutmeg. I am a fan of Penzeys and highly recommend their whole nutmeg. The scent as it’s run across a micro-planer is yummy and the taste can’t be beat.
After a couple of less than fantastic cocktails I feel like I’m hitting my stride, kids. It’s only going to get better from here!
That looks so yummy and I too love Penzeys.
