A road. A mountain. In black and white. Pedestrian, right? Ho-hum. Been there. Done that.
Until that road is a stretch of Highway 20 in North Cascades National Park. Until that mountain is Liberty Bell, towering in the distance at 7700+ feet. Black and white emphasizes the crags, removes the distraction of the yellow stripes down the middle of the road. And the perspective? Let’s just say the husband was keeping an eye out for traffic. 🙂 Not so pedestrian now, huh?

Welcome to Tales from the Upper Left! I’m an Oregonian by birth, and a Washingtonian (upper left...get it?) by choice. I share my life with a husband named Jonathan and a cat named Colby Jack (he’s orange...like cheese). I dabble in photography (passionate hobbyist), hike when the opportunity arises, drink wine whenever the mood strikes me and travel not often enough. Predictable Washington blog? Nah. I promise!
