One of my favorite dahlia gardens is just north of me at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma. I just happened to be in the neighborhood for business last week and took advantage of the opportunity. The husband was relieved. Me going by myself meant he didn’t have to park it on a bench for over an hour while I took photo after photo, caressing petals, mumbling softly to myself… I told him there’s always next year.
And, thus, I bring you dahlias…

Welcome to Tales from the Upper Left! I’m an Oregonian by birth, and a Washingtonian (upper left...get it?) by choice. I share my life with a husband named Jonathan and a cat named Colby Jack (he’s orange...like cheese). I dabble in photography (passionate hobbyist), hike when the opportunity arises, drink wine whenever the mood strikes me and travel not often enough. Predictable Washington blog? Nah. I promise!
