Weekly Photo Challenge: Shadow

Well, the Weekly Photo Challenge has rocked my world.  Starting this week they are posting the weekly challenge on Wednesday rather than Friday.  Whuhuh?!  Problem: Wednesday is dedicated to Wordless Wednesday.  Friday is dedicated to Weekly Photo Challenge.  If I begin posting the challenge on Wednesday…well, there’s no other day of the week that starts with “W”.  So, that doesn’t work for me.  Thus, I intend to continue posting my challenge photo on Friday.  Work for you?

I had to dip into the archives this week because the challenge was shadow.  Haha!  Let’s see…when did I last see a shadow here in the beautiful Pac NW?  Hmmmm…wellllllll….it’s been a while.

Thus, we’ve returned to Ghost Ranch.  Georgia O’Keeffe territory.  October 2016.  Nat Geo photography workshop.  Bliss.  I actually posted the black and white version of this photo here.  But, the color version really helps you to appreciate the shadows.  I was standing in a small hut of sorts.  I can’t remember the specifics.  It was modeled after some of the old native homes dating back to…I don’t remember.  Nonetheless, it was a perfect opportunity to frame the beauty of the red rocks in the doorway of the old hut, leaving the interior in shadow.

  1. I know, it messed me up too. I went to check the challenge for this week & bam they changed the day! I have already planned out my 2017 blogging schedule & this is throwing me for a bit of a loop. (Wish they would have changed it at the beginning of the year). Oh well, minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. Love this photo by the way!

  3. Your photo is gorgeous! I’m with you, I’m continuing to post the WPC on Fridays. I found that Friday is one of the best days to post anything! I have a schedule too, I mostly post on Thursdays and Fridays only. Oh well, it’s a great challenge!

    1. Thanks, Terri! Sounds like quite a few of us are going to stick with Friday. The nice thing about it posting on Wednesday is that we have some time to think about it before posting.
