Ambience. You know it when you see it, right? I’ve always been a sucker for a beautiful winter day. Sometimes bone-chillingly cold. Other times relatively mild, like the day this photo was taken. However, this is the first year that I have come to fully appreciate winter light from a photographic perspective.
I’ve mentioned this in previous posts, but I’m fine gushing on the topic again. There is a softness, a crispness, a milkiness, a…something-ness to winter light that I absolutely love and adore. Ambience? You betcha. Makes you want to be on that beach right now, doesn’t it? Even if you’d need to be bundled up. It would be worth it.
I love a beautiful winter day, too, which if fortunate, as we live in the Chicago area. 🙂

Oh, yes, you get many winter days there in Chicago. We’ve been in the 20’s and very low 30’s for almost two weeks…today it’s supposed to start warming…tomorrow it’s supposed to be 50 and rainy and I’m so excited. 🙂

We’re getting rain today as it’s in the upper 30’s. I’d much prefer snow, but what can I do? 🙂
