Love this week’s challenge because one of my favorite things in the world is a path through the forest.
Though we get a lot of winter rain here in the Puget Sound we occasionally get stunning winter days like that captured in this photo. This was just last week…a far cry from today’s rain/snow mix.
I love winter light because it’s so different than summer. Softer…more diffuse. The way it was filtering through the trees, lighting the (empty!) path before me…sigh…bliss!

Welcome to Tales from the Upper Left! I’m an Oregonian by birth, and a Washingtonian (upper left...get it?) by choice. I share my life with a husband named Jonathan and a cat named Colby Jack (he’s orange...like cheese). I dabble in photography (passionate hobbyist), hike when the opportunity arises, drink wine whenever the mood strikes me and travel not often enough. Predictable Washington blog? Nah. I promise!
