Share a photo that features water??!! It’s like this week’s challenge was created for those of us living in the Pacific Northwest. Water is something we have in abundance.
This photo was taken on a recent walk out at the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge, one of my very favorite places in the world. A boardwalk winds its way for over a mile out over an estuary. The area is beautiful no matter the time of year and full of birds, peek-a-boo views of Mount Rainier and….water.

Welcome to Tales from the Upper Left! I’m an Oregonian by birth, and a Washingtonian (upper left...get it?) by choice. I share my life with a husband named Jonathan and a cat named Colby Jack (he’s orange...like cheese). I dabble in photography (passionate hobbyist), hike when the opportunity arises, drink wine whenever the mood strikes me and travel not often enough. Predictable Washington blog? Nah. I promise! I really need to get there at high tide.
Me, too! This wasn’t quite high…tide was coming in. Would have been high in another hour.
That is a nice photo, I like it.
