Rare is the excessive heat warning currently in effect in Western Washington. As I write this the husband and I are sitting on the patio sipping cool white wine. It’s got to be hot if we’re drinking white instead of red. Weather.com says that it’s currently 96 in Olympia. The big orange cat is out rolling in the cool dirt. The birds are chirping lazily in the trees. It’s a good night to slow down and enjoy the weather. And when we tire of the heat? We’ll slip indoors and bask in the cool air provided by the heat pump…and maybe open a bottle of red.
