Every once-in-a-while the Weekly Photo Challenge just gels. This was one of those weeks.
When I read that the challenge was numbers I acknowledged that I was going to have to go out and attack the challenge head on. Because I couldn’t think of anything in the archives that fit the theme. Sure, I could have posted something totally unrelated to numbers and spun you a tail so that you were convinced that it was related (believe me, I was tempted). But, it was 80 degrees here today and I was itching to get out.
And, I thought I knew the perfect place: a local marina. Because boats have numbers on them, right?
I started taking photos with the wide angle lens and was getting some okay stuff. But, I wasn’t jazzed. Actually, I found myself more taken with the jelly fish swimmin’ round in the water than in the boats. At some point I realized that I was hearing a whole bunch of chirping and looked up. Bird houses. Lots of them. I had forgotten they had bird houses all over this marina. And, guess what? They’re numbered!! Ding-ding-ding! We have a winner.
I switched to my zoom lens and split my time between shooting birds (not literally), fishies and jelly fish.
Oh, wait! Before I get to the official number entry, check this out. I call it three-two-one. Before I noticed the numbered bird houses this was going to be my interpretation of numbers:
Pretty funny, huh? They landed one at a time, they took off one at a time. It works…but, this fits the theme perfectly:
Just goes to show…sometimes you gotta look up.
