Fallen Fluff

You’ve undoubtedly figured out that I love Kwanzan cherry trees.  I’ve posted…well…a few posts…about these beauties this spring.  And, even though I go through a period of mourning when they drop their blossoms I also love when they do just that.  A couple of weeks ago I left work and was driving along a street lined with Kwanzan.  As I was sitting at a light a breeze picked up and cherry blossoms snowed all around me, dancing in the wind.  I was blissed out.

I went in search of fallen petals the next weekend and was not disappointed.  I found a parking lot full of them.  Unfortunately, there was no wind.  And my own attempts at tossing handfuls of petals into the air and then trying to photograph them didn’t turn out so well.  I need a petal chucker…any volunteers?

Thus, today I bring you “snow,” Kwanzan style:
