I can’t be the only one who was a little mystified by this week’s photo challenge, Half-Light.  The topic was introduced by the statement, “I love the evening half-light:  that time just before dusk when the sky still holds light as darkness creeps across the land.  That magical half-light reminds me of a favorite poem…”

I thought, “Cool, half-light.”  But, then, as I scrolled down, the challenge seemed to take a different direction, inviting us to “share a photograph inspired by a favorite poem, verse, story, or song lyric.”  Huh-whuh?  What happened to half-light?  Then we were advised that if we weren’t feeling “especially literary or musical this week, see if you can capture the beauty of morning or evening half-light in your corner of the globe.”

What do you want from me, weekly photo challenge?!  I am soooo confused!

Okay.  Not so much.

I figure most will gravitate towards half-light.  Because who wouldn’t?  Half-light is a gorgeous thing.  And, I’m sure just as many will provide thoughtful poems or lyrics.  Will you forgive me for going light-hearted rather than all deep-thinky?  And for completely ignoring half-light?

Because there is a song that plays itself over and over and over and over in my head this time of year.  It’s a classic.  Ready?
