Weekly Photo Challenge: One Love

This week we were challenged to interpret “One Love.”  That’s impossible for me. It’s like a bowl of Halloween candy on an unmanned porch with a sign that says, “Please take one,” or a parent being asked to identify the child they love most (it’s okay, Mom, I know it’s me).

I have many loves: the husband (look honey, you were listed first!), the large orange cat (though I questioned my love last night when I was attempting to snuggle him and he had his feet braced against me and his face turned away), flowers, the great state of Washington, hiking, food, Mt Rainier, the family, wine, the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge, Kauai, cake (it deserves a category separate from food). The list is long.

So, let’s dedicate this to the One Love that currently has me all hot and bothered: photography.

Surprised? Probably not so much. It’s a love that I spend hours thinking about. It stimulates me, frustrates me, enthralls me and I can get lost in it for hours. It doesn’t cause me to gain weight, nor does it give me a hangover.

Last weekend I went to a local waterfront park in the rain, because that’s the kind of thing we do for love. The photos I posted of rain spelunking in water on Wordless Wednesday were taken that same afternoon.

This particular photo was taken with a neutral density filter. I love the light, I love the color. With the bridge it almost has a Japanese garden feel. Here it is a reflection of my One Love.

      1. I just realized that I already replied to that…so my second response is starting to sound creeper-stalker-ish. Stupid margaritas. Sorry ’bout that. πŸ™‚
