Cranberry Chili Salsa

We had friends over last Sunday for homemade tamales (she provided).  I whipped up cranberry margarita, which I will be sharing with you within the next few days, and this zesty sweet/spicy salsa.  It sounds odd.  Cranberry Chili Salsa.  I was a skeptic when a former co-worker brought it to a holiday potluck.  Then I tasted it. And I was a believer.

Try it.  You’ll be a believer, too.  And if others are skeptical that just means that you’ll have leftovers to bring from whatever gathering you’ve taken it to.

Cranberry Chili Salsa

1 pkg – 12 oz fresh cranberries
3/4 cup sugar
1 can – 4 oz chopped green chiles
3 tblsp minced fresh cilantro
2 green onions, chopped
2 tsp lime juice
1 tsp grated lime peel
1/4 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Place all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until blended.  Serve with tortilla chips.  Actually, this salsa would probably also be good with grilled chicken or pork.

You’re welcome!  🙂  Fa-la-la!
