Weekly Photo Challenge: Treat

Weekly Photo Challenge time!   This week we were invited to share our interpretation of a “Treat”:  “For many, candies aren’t a favorite indulgence. Maybe you’re a savory food lover, or you’ve gone on a beautiful vacation to treat yourself. Perhaps some quiet time alone with a beloved novel is your greatest pleasure. This week, share with us a photo of something that you consider a marvelous treat.”

Of course, I immediately thought of candy because tomorrow is Halloween.  And I love candy.  But, I wanted to go a different direction.  So, I considered cake.  I love cake.  Particularly when it’s in the form of a cupcake.  But, I have not cupcake pictures.  Now that I think about it, I could have used this “assignment” as an excuse to stop at the local cupcake shop after work.  Dang.  Short-sighted on my part.

Actually, with a little more thought, I came up with pictures from a hike that we took earlier this year in the Mt. St. Helens area. How am I getting treat out of that? Allow me to explain:  I live in the great state of Washington.  We get a little bit of rain around here.  Which means that, sometimes, it is an incredible treat to hit a hiking trail on a gorgeous day with views that go on for miles.  Because on any given day you could hit rain, drizzle, mist, showers, sprinkles, a torrent, heavy dew…you get the idea.  But on those days when the skies are clear and the mountains unfold before you….those days are a treat.
