I’ve changed my name! Well, not me personally, just the blog name. The day 2 assignment for Blogging 101 was to assess my title and tag line. At first I panicked. “Change my title! What if my faithful followers get confused? What if they can’t find me? What if they don’t bother to look?” Well, there’s always that risk, isn’t there?
But, then I began to ponder how my blog has changed in its short three months in existence, as I related this morning. I still cook. Drink? Check! Hike? Double check! But I don’t write much about the cooking or drinking. Though, as an aside, I made the most amazing homemade vanilla bean strawberry ice cream yesterday. With berries from the local berry farm. Delectable!
Anyways, I’ve discovered that the bulk of my posts come out on the weekends, when we do stuff. On Mondays I have been known to say, “I can’t wait until Friday!” Which made me think of a phrase my Mom would say to me when I was a kid and was constantly saying “I wish….it was the weekend, it was summer, it was Christmas, it was my birthday, the car ride was over.” She would look me in the eye and say, “Don’t wish your life away.” Ain’t that the truth. The older I get the faster time seems to slip by. And yet I still do it….I wish it was the weekend…I wish it was vacation….I wish, I wish, I wish.
So, out of that came the new title: Wishing My Life Away with the tag line: Living for the weekend, loving the in between and dragging you along for the ride.
Do I currently love the in between? Sometimes. I chose to phrase it that way as a deliberate reminder to myself: don’t get so caught up in those fleeting weekends that you forget the good stuff that happens during the week.
So, welcome. Same content….snazzy new title.
