Today I’m in Guernville CA with a group of nine ladies. Crazy? Maybe a little. Turns out there are redwoods within a five minute drive of the little town. This morning we went for a wal amongst those majestic trees and I worked on the weekly challenge, Intricate. My interpretation of intricate is this photo, looking down into an open seam in a massive redwood. Dark wood, intricate lacey cobwebs. Very cool.

Welcome to Tales from the Upper Left! I’m an Oregonian by birth, and a Washingtonian (upper left...get it?) by choice. I share my life with a husband named Jonathan and a cat named Colby Jack (he’s orange...like cheese). I dabble in photography (passionate hobbyist), hike when the opportunity arises, drink wine whenever the mood strikes me and travel not often enough. Predictable Washington blog? Nah. I promise!
